Will of Robert Pende Charing 1545

This is the last will of me Robert Pende of Charing made and declared the 25 day of the month of July in the year of the reign of our sovereign Lord Henry VIIl of England France and Ireland King defender of the faith and in earth head of the Church of England and also of Ireland the 32th first I will to my brother Edward Pende all my lands in East Sutton in Ulcombe in Sutton Valence and Charing or elsewhere to him his heirs of his body lawfully begotten except the tenement in Bromefield and a tenement at East Sutton two crofts and a garden the which I will to George Pende otherwise called George Bowerman and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten except also my house and lands lying and being in Charing which I lately bought I will that my executors shall sell the aforesaid house to the best price they can to preform this my last testament and last will so that my debts owing to me and my movables will not preform my debts and legaciesand if the same Edward Pende do die with out heirs of his body lawfully begotten then I will that George Pende alias George Bowerman shall have my chief house at East Sutton with all the lands belonging therunto and the lands and house called Burgess to him and his heirs and if the forsaid George ……. without heirs of his body lawfully then I will that my exuctors shall sell the said houses and lands for the best price he may and the one half of the money received to a priest to sing for my soul and all christians of Charing and the other part to be bestowed to poor people and to repave the highway ……. the day and year above written these being witnesses of this my testament and last will Henry Marshal vicar of Charing Andrew Petenden clerk and William Masday
