Will of Thomas Pende Cranbrook 1469 (Charity Farm)

In the name of god amen the ninth day of the month of May 1469 I Thomas Pende of Cranbrook of sound mind and be praised make my testament in this manner first I leave my soul to god to the blessed virgin mary and all the company of saints my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish of St Dunstanin the aforsaid Cranbrook first I give to the high altar of the same for tithes and ……. by me forgotten 8s d (?) item. I give to Master Cranebroke Id item I give to Benedicte my wife all my household and give to the same Benedicte my cattle an best pig item I give toward my funeral expenses 6s 4d and to my ……. expenses 8s 4d and to my ……. expenses 6s 8d the residue after my bequests and debts paid and all my expenses I make William Brett and Edward Habynden my executors. This is the last will and testament of me the said Thomas Pende made in the day and year above written that is to say all my parte which is in the fourth part of my pieces of land and a logge in Hawkhurst shall be sold to content my said bequests and to pay debts therwith and the resude of the money therof comming if any the be left I will that it be disposed of by the ……. and discretion of my said executors also I will that Benet my wife shall have my piece and croft of land ffsestynden in the said Hawkhurst by all the term of her life and after her decease the same piece of land and croft shall be had to the heirs of the bodies of me and the said Benet lawfully begotten and if it happen the same heirs decease within lawful age then the same piece and croft shall be had by my next heirs
